Player Reference
Overview
The Player is EVAL's interactive interface for running evaluations. It functions as a decision support interface that leads users through a series of interactive questions and logic steps, ultimately producing a set of results or recommendations.
Accessing Player
Log in to EVAL and select an evaluation from Explore or Library. The Player interface loads with a blue header bar to distinguish it from the green Builder header.
Evaluation Structure
Each evaluation in Player is composed of:
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Evaluation Metadata | Name, slug, short description |
| Sections | Logical groupings that organize the content |
| Questions | Numeric or choice-based inputs you respond to |
| Results | Calculated scores and conditional recommendations based on your responses |
Navigation and Progress
A progress indicator tracks your decisions as you move through the evaluation, showing completion percentage and allowing you to revisit previous responses by clicking on items in the audit trail.
Unit Conversions
Numeric inputs that support multiple units of measure display a double-arrow toggle. You can switch between units (for example, kg and lbs in a BMI calculator) at any time. The system automatically converts values when you change units, and calculations always use the primary unit internally.
Results Display
Results appear as cards showing scores, units, and conditional recommendations. Some results display independently while others combine a calculated score with recommendations based on visibility rules tied to your responses. Not all results are visible for every combination of inputs — visibility rules control which results appear based on the answers you provide.
Summary
After completing all required inputs, a View Summary button becomes available. This takes you to the final recommendations and decision notes for the completed evaluation.
